PERGESERAN POSISI AGAMA DALAM UNDANG-UNDANG PENDIDIKAN DI INDONESIA

Abstrak: Agama akhirnya memperoleh posisi sebagai akar pendidikan nasional setelah melewati waktu 53 tahun sejak Undang-undang pendidikan pertama disahkan tahun 1950. Fokus kajian ini adalah untuk melihat pergeseran posisi agama dalam rumusan-rumusan dasar dan tujuan pendidikan nasional. Penulis mengemukakan bahwa posisi agama dalam rumusan-rumusan tujuan pendidikan nasional akhirnya juga meningkat lebih strategis yang diposisikan sebagai akar pendidikan nasional dalam Undang-undang pendidikan No. 2 tahun 1989 dan Undang-undang No. 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa pergeseran posisi agama tersebut secara historis terkait dengan kekuatan kelompok nasionalis agama di Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat dan dukungan masyarakat simpatisannya. Meskipun posisi agama lebih strategis, tetapi Pancasila dan UUD 1945 sejak awal tetap terpelihara posisinya sebagai dasar pendidikan nasional.Abstract: The Shift of Religious Position in the Education Laws of Indo- nesia, A Study on the Principles and Objectives of National Education. The position of religion as root of national education is finally affirmed by the 1989 and 2003 Laws of Education, well over half a century since Indonesia’s first Law of Education enacted in 1950. The main thrust of this study will be focused on analyzing the shift of religious position in the principles and objectives of national education. The author maintains that in the last Law of Education, religion recieves a much more important and strategic position which gave more weight as the root of education in the formulation of national education’s foundations and objectives. This shift clearly related to religious-nationalist parties in the House of Representatives as well as grass root groups that support them. It is observed, however, that the strengthening of religion position does not happen at the expense of the Pancasila and the Constitution of 1945.Kata Kunci: agama, pendidikan nasional, dasar pendidikan, tujuan pendidikan
