INTERAKSI MUSLIM DAN KRISTIANI DALAM IKATAN KEKERABATAN DI SUMATERA UTARA

Abstrak: Asumsi dasar yang dibangun pada penelitian ini adalah, hubungan muslim dan kristiani di Sumatera Utara berlangsung dalam berbagai domain dimana interaksinya bisa terjadi secara harmonis dan bisa pula disharmonis. Berpijak pada asumsi tersebut, permasalahan pada penelitian ini ditegaskan dalam pertanyaan “bagaimana hubungan muslim-kristiani di Sumatera Utara dalam ikatan kekerabatan?”. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Sosiologi Agama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan muslim dan kristiani di Sumatera Utara pada domain kekerabatan berlangsung harmonis ketika keduanya mengalami interaksi yang berkesinambungan; melebur dalam berbagai aktivitas sosial; saling menghormati dan melahirkan kesadaran saling membutuhkan satu sama lain. Sementara hubungan disharmonis terjadi ditandai dengan sikap saling mencurigai, persaingan satu sama lain serta lahirnya konflik-konflik yang tersembunyi (hidden conflict).Abstract: Muslim Christian Interaction within Kinship Tie in Sumatra Utara. The basic assumption of this study is that there has been a muslim and christian relations in North Sumatra in various domains, the interactions of which may occur in harmony, but also disharmony. Based on these assumption, the problem of this study is to answer the extent to which the muslim-christian relations occur in North Sumatra. Specifically, it traces the Muslims and Christians relations with regard to kinship. The study was conducted by using the socio-religious approach. The results of this study showed that the Muslim and Christian relations in North Sumatra, in the kinship domain run in harmony when both experienced continuous interaction, immerse themselves in various social activities, mutual respect and raise awareness of reciprocal relationship. While the disharmonious relationship occurred emanated from mutual suspicion, competition with one another and the hidden conflict.Kata Kunci: Muslim, Kristiani, Sumatera Utara, interaksi agama-agama
